Her film debut came in 1990 with Tales from the Darkside: The Movie the film was later described by her as a horrible low-budget movie. Short Cuts, both produced by Robert Altman (1993), and 3 Women, also productions by Altman (1997) included among her works. Her performance in the critically-acclaimed short-cuts (1993) brought her a number of nominations. Moore played her first main role in Safe(1995). The casting of Steven Spielberg's Moore in Jurassic Park: The Lost World which was one of the most successful films of 1997, was a significant change in Moore's career. The film she starred in was Magnolia (1999) and was praised by critics and was awarded an SAG nomination for her part. The Hours was her co-starring part in 2002. it received nine Academy Award nominations with Nicole Kidman. Moore was also featured in The Forgotten 2004, Freedomland, Shelter and Shelter 2010. In 2014 she appeared in Non-Stop. Moore was a regular on many films and television shows. Most recently, she was in leading roles is in 2022: When You Finish Securing the World. The actress has established herself as a star in Hollywood as well as being an author for children. She released her first book Freckleface Strawberry (2007) and it was an N.Y.T. bestseller. The book was a huge best selling book, then adapted to a television series and musical. She also published My Mom's a Foreigner in the year 2013. Moore has a public life as a renowned actor and a novelist. Moore married John Robin back in 1984, and the couple divorced in the year 1996. She has two kids and a son with Bart Freundlich whom she later married in 2003. Moore's world revolves around her friends, career and family.
